I’ve been a proud Laborer Union member since June 15, 1989. By showing up to work every day and learning the Heavy Highway trade, I worked my way up to becoming a Laborer Foreman in May 1995.
In 2008, I was employed by the Laborers Training School as the San Diego Region Apprenticeship Coordinator. Having Apprentices on my jobsites when I was a Laborer Foreman, I could see the struggles and difficulties that they were going thru while in the Apprenticeship. Now, this allows me to help them navigate thru their work and training for them to succeed.
"Welcome to the Laborers Training School website, here you’ll navigate and choose your Apprenticeship Program. You’ll join our team, get trained and start you career!"
I started my career in construction in 1995, working for one of the largest concrete finishing companies in Southern California. Through hard work and dedication, I moved up the ranks within the company to become a concrete foreman and eventually overseeing three concrete pouring crews.
In 2014, I join the Laborers Training School as a marketing representative for the LCM program with inspirations to one day becoming a regional coordinator. With the same hard work and dedication, in 2019 I was awarded the position of Southern California Cement Mason coordinator. As we continue to gain ground and momentum in the construction industry, in November 2021 the Brick tender apprenticeship program was introduce as accredited craft. And I was given the additional opportunity and responsibility to help grow and expand this trade.
